After the successful installation of the adaptive façade in the House of Natural Resources, the focus of the research will shift from the design of the hardware to the adaptive control of the façade. We will investigate how the individual modules should be controlled in order to achieve an optimal balance between power generation, as well as glare and heat gain reductions. Furthermore, the integration of high-level lighting control in the offices will be pursued, which will use the adaptive façade as a means to actively provide day lighting to the offices. Finally, we will investigate how the adaptive façade, which is made up of many modules, can interact efficiently with the occupant of the office. In other words, using what interface can the user communicate his desires in the simplest way to the façade control system without having to rely on a complex user interface.
